Wine Cellar

Before
After

The least attractive feature of the house, the stairwell and musty basement area, were grey and dark with very low ceilings. It is now a cozy wine tasting area with lots of surprises.

Corks and Wine labels imbedded into stairwell walls.
Cement stained and aged –beautiful!
Mustiness solved with moisture blocking paint with anti-mildew additives and top coated with vanilla scented paint.
Walls and ceiling resemble pitted stone so you feel you’re in a cavern.
Cheap pine boxes stained for wine storage.
“Tumbled marble” countertop created with tape, plasters and glaze.
Faux aged “leather,” “stained glass,” “inlaid” wood, and stone-molding.
Painted aged “Westover Winery” sign named after neighborhood.
Murals of: Tuscany, a wine storage room, and painted wine racks.
Painted cork and broken wine glass on steps.
Cut bottles in faux rack and shelf.
Grey stairs wood grained to look like expensive stairs.
Faux “inlaid wood” door.
A plastic industrial barrel painted to look like an old oak barrel.

These are just some of the many transformations done by the artists.
