Q:
Why a birdhouse auction?
A: We wanted any artist who wanted to participate
in the House that Faux Built to be able to do so. We had already
assigned all the rooms in the Arlington fauxhouse and had
begun expansion to the Chicago Church Project but we were
getting hundred of calls and emails of folks who wanted to
help. The contest allowed any artisan from across the country
and overseas to participate. We selected the birdhouse theme
as a reminder of the furred and feathered victims left homeless
by the hurricanes.
Q: What’s
Noah’s Wish? Can I still make a donation?
A: An animal rescue non-profit organization.
They stepped in quickly to help the animals made homeless
by Katrina and continue to save homeless and abused animals.

Charity or make a donation, go to:

Q: What percentage
of the auction proceeds went to Noah’s Wish?
A: 100%
Q: Who won
the contest?
A: We actually had 30 winners and 15 honorable
mentions. All were considered winners because they were selected
to be featured to be in the book. Each birdhouse was so unique
that it was incredibly difficult to select the one birdhouse
to be donated to go with the “Habitat House that Faux
Built.” We selected the New Orleans theater by Donna
Busch of Canada because it was custom built, beautifully painted,
had windows you could peer through and see the inside of the
theater. Best of all it was painted with a New Orleans theme.
Q: Are the
birdhouses featured in the book?
A: Absolutely
.
Q: Are you going to have another contest?
A: While there are no specific plans, we
are looking at future ideas for raising money for animal rescue.
